Apr 22, 2012   //   by ChevyAdmin   //   ChevyGuys Shop Truck, The ChevyGuy Blog  //  No Comments

Rebuilt the steering column this weekend… The column is a 63 column. I had the column pieces chromed and installed a 64-66 gear position indicator. Here’s a few pics of the final product.

New Seat Upholstery!

Apr 5, 2012   //   by ChevyAdmin   //   ChevyGuys Shop Truck, The ChevyGuy Blog  //  No Comments

I had custom upholstery sewn for the seat. The shop just emailed me a picture of the upholstery, I think it looks awesome with the white.

The white skirts on the seats were common on these trucks. With the white steering wheel and other accents in the interior the seat should really “pop”. We’ll see soon enough.

Here it is ( it hasn’t been hog ringed yet):

Starting Work on the Inside

Mar 27, 2012   //   by ChevyAdmin   //   ChevyGuys Shop Truck  //  No Comments

I spent some time this weekend installing new window regulators, glass, weatherstripping, and window felts. I also installed the gas tank, sending unit, and filler nozzle in the cab. The white you see on the transmission tunnel is seam sealer. Since my cab was a factory low hump cab I had to drill all the holes for the bolts in the factory locations for the high hump transmission cover.

The previous owner had cut up the floor in that area. I wanted to make it a high hump for the added room when I install an LS motor and 4L80E down the road.

Vent Windows

Feb 1, 2012   //   by ChevyAdmin   //   ChevyGuys Shop Truck, The ChevyGuy Blog  //  No Comments

Spent Saturday rebuilding my vent windows. This was a huge job. The way that all of the rivits are installed from the factory does not allow ease of installation without special tools. I was able to get them rebuilt with a little persuasion and lot of verbal inspiration. Seann 1, vent windows 0.
